Renew an adult Canadian passport from the United States
How do I renew my Canadian passport while living in the US?
Adult passport renewals from the US use PPTC 054 and are mailed to Canada. Follow the US application instructions, including its payment rules.
Where to begin
- Check renewal eligibility and the required documents for the US route.
- Complete PPTC 054 and its checklist.
- Pay using a method accepted for US applications; check the current fee.
- Mail the complete package to the appropriate courier or postal address in the official instructions.

Keep your actual documents and account details off this website. Use the official service’s current checklist before applying.
What to check for your situation
For urgent or exceptional circumstances, contact the nearest Canadian office abroad. A processing standard is not a guaranteed travel date.
Fees, processing times and document rules can change. This page helps you navigate; it does not confirm eligibility or replace the government’s instructions.
